It’s widely used by content creators and streamers to produce live broadcasts and video recordings for various platforms like Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Rumble, etc. In the following we’ll walk you through the steps to set up OBS for live streaming.

Step 1: Download and install OBS. Go to the OBS website https://obsproject.com and download the software for your operating system. Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install OBS.

Step 2: Configure OBS for streaming. Open the OBS and go to the “Settings” menu at the bottom right corner.

Step 3: In the “Stream” tab, select the “Custom” as the service. And add the Streaming Key and the url that you copied from Kick.

Step 6:  Add your sources to the scene. Sources refers to your source of video and audio content (game capture, window capture, webcam, etc.) that is used in the OBS to create a livestream.

Step 7: Test your stream. In the main OBS window, click on the “Start Streaming” button. Open your Kick channel and verify that your stream is live and functioning properly.

Step 8: Adjust and optimize your stream. Tweak your OBS settings (bitrate, resolution, FPS, etc.) to optimize your stream quality. Monitor your stream for issues such as dropped frames or buffering, and adjust your settings accordingly.
